Following two successful executive level strategy consulting projects with our employed Consulting team, on organisational vision and business architecture, we were delighted to have the opportunity to provide an eCommerce Manager Search & Selection services to support the growth of the internal Digital Team in London.
During the briefing it became clear that we had strict, and short range deadlines to get this right first time, well ahead of a peak trading season to maximise return on investment both in the short term and be established for the following financial year.
As with many SMEs a wide skill set was required across eCommerce, Digital Marketing, Social Media, UX, Corporate Branding, PR, Promotions, and Creativity with the ability to effectively work alongside the Production Manager.
The ideal candidate needed e-retail and relevant fashion experience; not forgetting the all important culture fit.
We cast the net wide approaching over 150 directly relevant candidates who demonstrated knowledge of their enterprise content management system and fashion retail achievements as an eCommerce Manager or Head of eCommerce.
We prefer to work to a 13 week retained campaign timetable for Director appointments, where the client interviews candidates in weeks 4-6. When you commit to BluZinc you are a prioritised, exclusive customer and in this situation we were able to pull the stops out to provide a short-list of four pre-interviewed and selected candidates within 2 weeks from the brief. The client interviewed the short-list, which as promised had a variety of experience levels and unique qualities, which assisted the client confirming exactly what their needs were in an ideal hire.

We included Onfido background checks and employment referencing for clients who work with us exclusively. For this client, following our consultancy meeting, we provided the Job Description and eCommerce focused Competency Based Interview questions to support the assessment and hiring decisions.
